  18. <p>     "It was the silliest name we could think of," says a member
  19. of the Sugarcubes about the founding of their new wave group.
  20. Iceland's best-known punk rockers, they banded together in 1986
  21. and hit British charts with their first single. Now the sweeties
  22. are on a 23-city North American tour, where they represent their
  23. country "just by being us." Audiences are tongue-tangled from
  24. cheering Magga Ornolfsdottir, Thor Eldon, Bragi Olafsson, Bjork
  25. Gudmundsdottir, Siggi Baldursson and Einar Orn. With that
  26. roster, it may be easier to say Sykurmolarnir--Icelandic for
  27. sugar cubes.
